What Cerfel is, and what it is not.
An independent web studio. We are new under this name, we take a few projects at a time, and we would rather tell you that up front than have you find out later.
The short version
Cerfel is a small web studio. We plan the site around what it has to achieve, then work back to the design and the build. That order is the one thing we are dogmatic about.
The work runs from marketing sites and web apps through to custom internal software, with the design and the search side handled in-house. We stay small enough that nothing gets handed off halfway.
Between projects we write things up. The guides here come out of client work, which is also why the list of tools we cover is short.
What we hold to
The site has a job
Before anything gets designed, we agree what the site is supposed to do. Every decision after that gets judged against it.
You talk to the person building it
There is nobody sitting between you and the person writing the code. It is a small studio, and that is the whole advantage.
We write about what we use
The tools covered here are the ones we run projects on. Some links earn a commission; none of them bought their place.
You can fire us
Standard tooling, no proprietary layer on top. Anything we build can be handed to another developer without a translation step.
Work with us
We take a handful of projects at a time. If we are full, we will tell you instead of stretching.
