What Cerfel is, and what it is not.

An independent web studio. We are new under this name, we take a few projects at a time, and we would rather tell you that up front than have you find out later.

The short version

Cerfel is a small web studio. We plan the site around what it has to achieve, then work back to the design and the build. That order is the one thing we are dogmatic about.

The work is websites: marketing sites and web apps, the design of their screens before the build, and the technical SEO that keeps them findable. We stay small enough that nothing gets handed off halfway.

We also write things down: 6 guides so far, and 8 tool reviews that say what each tool is bad at.

How the guides are made

The guides and reviews are written with the help of AI tools, then edited and checked before they are published.

Prices, plan limits and other figures are read on the vendors’ own pages, and each one names the page and the day it was read. A figure that could not be read there is left out.

A tool score is an editorial opinion that weighs the strengths, the watch-outs and the entry price. No tool has been put through a lab test, and no review says otherwise.

When a guide changes, it shows the date of the update. To report a mistake or a price that has moved, write to the studio.

What we hold to

The site has a job

Before anything gets designed, we agree what the site is supposed to do. Every decision after that gets judged against it.

You talk to the person building it

There is nobody sitting between you and the person writing the code. It is a small studio, and that is the whole advantage.

We say what a tool is bad at

Every review lists its watch-outs next to its strengths. No link here earns a commission, so no tool paid for its place.

You can fire us

Standard tooling, no proprietary layer on top. Anything we build can be handed to another developer without a translation step.
