Our verdict

For React and Next.js sites, Vercel is the simplest place to start: every change gets a preview deployment, on the platform built by the company that develops Next.js. Mind the plan: Vercel reserves the free Hobby plan for personal, non-commercial use, so a business site starts on Pro at $20 a month, and costs grow with heavy traffic. For the record, cerfel.com itself is not on Vercel: it runs in a container on a private server.

What the entry plan includes

  • Hobby, $0 a month: Vercel’s pricing page says it is for personal, non-commercial use.
  • Pro, $20 a month: includes $20 of usage credit, team collaboration and free viewer seats.
